The story of the stars
Humans have always been interested with the stars. The stars have been used to mark changes in the seasons and to navigate. It is difficult to trace when the people got familiar with the patterns on the sky, and when were they able to read from them. Ancient cultures across the globe saw these patterns in a different way, they often linked them to legends or myths. The constellations that make up the zodiac are some of the oldest recorded ones. Although there are older records from many different places and cultures, it is ancient Greeks that made a lasting impact on astronomy and astrology. More stars were discover and named after the invention of the telescope. In 1922 a group of astronomers from around the world properly mapped the stars. They put official boundaries between the constellations to make it easier to navigate and locate specific objects. Now the stars are divided into 88 constellations.

If people have always used the stars to navigate, they must have had pretty decent maps of the sky before 1922, didn't they?
